Villagers commonly use charcoal, salt or neem sticks to brush their teeth since basic amenities like toothbrushes and toothpaste are unavailable. To address these deplorable dental conditions, Dental HygIndia has helped to fund a Superspeciality Mobile Dental Clinic equipped with state-of-the-art dental equipment and a highly qualified team of 5 specialist doctors, 2 hygienists, 1 technician, and 2 dental assistants.

| In the state of Andhra Pradesh (population of 100 million), there are only 3000 qualified dental surgeons, 1500 of whom reside in the city of Hyderabad (population of 10 million). As for the remaining 90 million people, there are only 1500 available dental surgeons, many of whom work strictly in cities and district headquarters. In villages and remote areas of Andhra Pradesh, the lack of dental treatment facilities and proper dental care has led to an overall lack of oral hygiene awareness and the disastrous percentages shown above. |
| |
To combat this crisis, we are conducting dental awareness programs and providing quality treatment to people of all ages in cities and remote villages. |
